An Extinct ion Theory: The Pelicut (continued)

The pelicut died out 80 million years ago, It died out because a comet ball crashed into the Earth and killed all the pelicuts. The pelicut swallowed other animals whole and didn't mind catching fish. The pelicuts were humungous birds. They only lived in Texas and Argentina, but some of them got eaten by great white sharks. That's because great white sharks could jump high enough out of the water to catch low-flying pelicuts.

Dr. Ellery is feeling better today.

An Extinct ion Theory: The Pelicut

Dr. Ellery has been sick the last couple of days but was insistent that his Loyal Readers needed to learn about the extinct bird, the pelicut. The pelicut was the largest flying creature ever, larger even than the pterosaur Quetzlcoatlus. It had a beak that was approximately 30.5 meters (100 feet) long, and it swallowed animals whole. A well-preserved fossil unearthed in Argentina was found to have in its stomach the remains of a large constrictor.
